The Higher Colleges of Technology is hosting the 5th Biennial Education Without Borders (EWB) Conference from 29-31 March 2009 in Dubai, UAE. (http://ewb2009.hct.ac.ae/). The attached letter and conference flier provide more details about this exciting event.
The objective of EWB is to create networks across cultures in order to understand and generate solutions for some of the world's greatest challenges. We achieve this by engaging the world's most innovative students and leaders in the business, technology, education, and humanitarian sector in a collaborative forum that culminates in a commitment to action. At EWB in 2007, over 1,000 students from 110 countries and 150 universities participated. More than 550 student papers were submitted, of which 30 papers were selected for presentation.
Students may apply to attend the event as:
a. A Delegate who will attend conference events and presentations; and/or
b. A Presenter who will submitted a paper to be considered for presentation at the conference.
We do hope you and your colleagues might be able to identify a number of students from the University of Melbourne to join us at EWB 2009.
Sincerely,
Christine Luscombe-WhyteEWB Executive Organising Committee
